Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Padel Platform ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Padel Platform mobile application, companion watchOS application, and website at padelplatform.app (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.

Data controller: Consultia ApS, Denmark, is the controller responsible for personal data processed through the Service. We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Danish Data Protection Act. For data-protection requests, contact us at [email protected].

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Account Information

  • Name: Display name provided during sign-up or from social sign-in providers (Google, Apple).
  • Email address: Used for account authentication (email/password or Google sign-in).
  • Phone number: Used for phone number authentication, if chosen.

Match & Gameplay Data

  • Match data: Scores, sets, games, points, timestamps, match mode, and completion status.
  • Match statistics: Points won, serves, returns, streaks, break points, and serving durations.
  • Player contacts: Names of players you create to compose teams and track match participants.

Video and Audio Content

  • Match recordings: Video and audio captured by court cameras during matches. Recordings can be initiated automatically for scheduled matches, or on demand by any signed-in user who scans a court QR code. Recordings capture the court and may incidentally capture people near the court.
  • Highlight videos: Automatically generated highlight clips derived from match recordings.

Health & Fitness Data

If you use the companion Apple Watch application, we may collect the following data through Apple HealthKit:

  • Heart rate: Average and maximum heart rate during matches.
  • Active energy burned: Calories burned during matches.
  • Workout data: Tennis workout sessions written to HealthKit.

This data is only collected when you actively use the Apple Watch app during a match and have granted HealthKit permissions. You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device's Settings.

Location Data

  • Coarse location: The app requests location permission to read your current WiFi network name for camera configuration purposes. This information is used locally on your device and is not stored on our servers as location data.

Device & Diagnostic Data

  • Device information: Bluetooth connectivity data for camera and scoreboard communication.
  • Diagnostic logs: Optional debug logs from the Apple Watch app (BLE events, error traces) that may be submitted with match data to help troubleshoot issues.

Identifiers

  • User ID: A unique identifier assigned to your account for authentication and data association.
  • Device identifiers: Firebase Authentication may collect device identifiers for security and fraud prevention purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely for app functionality:

  • Authenticate your identity and manage your account.
  • Store and display your match history, statistics, and highlights.
  • Display health and fitness data in your match statistics.
  • Enable player contact management and team composition.
  • Enable sharing of matches marked as public.
  • Facilitate video recording, processing, and streaming of matches.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Ensure security and prevent fraud.

We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, analytics, tracking, or any purpose other than providing the Service.

Legal Basis for Processing

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): Account management, match history, statistics, and the core features you sign up for.
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): Video and audio recordings of matches. When you initiate a recording — including by scanning a court QR code — you consent to the recording of yourself and confirm that you have informed the other players on the court. Posted signage at each court informs players and people nearby that recording may take place. You may withdraw consent at any time by stopping the stream or deleting the recording in your account, or by emailing [email protected].
  • Explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a)): Health and fitness data collected via Apple HealthKit (special-category data). Granted via the operating system permission prompt and revocable at any time in device Settings.
  • Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): Security, fraud prevention, and diagnostic logging.

4. Apple HealthKit Data

We take the privacy of your health data seriously. In accordance with Apple's HealthKit guidelines:

  • HealthKit data is never shared with third parties.
  • HealthKit data is never used for advertising or marketing.
  • HealthKit data is never sold to data brokers or any other entities.
  • HealthKit data is only used to display your health metrics within your own match records in the Service.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Firebase (Google): For authentication, user account management, and security. Firebase may collect device identifiers and IP-based location data for fraud prevention.
  • Microsoft Azure: For video storage and processing.
  • Bunny CDN (BunnyWay d.o.o., EU): For video streaming and delivery.

These services have their own privacy policies governing how they handle your data. HealthKit data is not shared with any of these third-party services.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with data brokers, advertisers, or any entities for tracking purposes. Match data and videos you mark as "private" are only accessible to you. Public matches may be viewed by other users of the platform.

7. Data Retention

We retain account data and match data for as long as your account is active. When you request account deletion, your account is scheduled for permanent removal, and a platform administrator will delete your account and associated data within 30 days. You may cancel a deletion request by signing in again within the 30-day period.

Match recordings. Recordings (video, audio, generated highlights) are kept indefinitely while your account is active, so that you can return to them whenever you want. You can delete an individual recording from your account at any time. If your account is inactive for five years, associated recordings are deleted automatically. If you appear in a recording you did not initiate and want it removed, contact [email protected] — we respond within 30 days.

8. Your Rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account, your recordings, or any recording in which you appear.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Withdraw consent for data processing (e.g., stop a recording, delete a recording, revoke HealthKit permissions).
  • Export your match data.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.dk) if you believe your rights have been violated.

To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected]. People who appear in a recording — including those without an account — may request deletion at the same address. We respond to data-protection requests within 30 days.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication via Firebase, and access controls on our backend systems. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

10. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
